I’m going to share five unusual plants and berries that will help alkaline your body’s pH and have some incredible healing properties. Keep in mind, most of us are below the ideal pH of 7.35-7.45 and its wreaking havoc on our health and well-being. pH is the abbreviation of potential hydrogen and the higher our pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich our blood is. The lower our pH reading, the more acidic and oxygen deprived our blood is. A neutral pH is 7.0, so anything below is within an acidic range and above 7.0 is within an alkaline range. The ideal pH for blood is 7.35-7.45(slightly alkaline). Anything below the 7.35 range means we experience symptoms of disease. Research shows that unless the body’s pH level is slightly alkaline, the body cannot heal itself. An imbalance in the pH levels may lead to serious health concerns including: hormone concerns, cardiovascular weakness, weight gain/loss, bladder and kidney concerns, immune deficiency, acceleration of free radical damage, stressed liver function, low energy, slow digestion and elimination, yeast/fungal overgrowth, and tumor growth. Disease cannot survive in an alkaline state. An acidic pH can occur from an acid forming diet(what we eat is very important), emotional stress, toxic overload, amount of water we drink daily, our attitude, quality of sleep and any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients. There are always two things present with cancer: an acidic pH and lack of oxygen. Let’s improve our pH levels, heal our bodies and ward off disease.

Here are the five incredible berries and plant algae that not only help alkaline our body but have amazing healing potential:
Number one is the Sea Buckthorn berry. This plant is grown in China and Russia. It is an golden-orange fruit and it’s flavonoids and oils are extracted for medicinal use. There are five areas of research for their use: as an aid for cancer patients undergoing cancer therapy, reduction of cardiovascular risk factors, ulcer treatment, internal and topical therapy of skin disorders, as a liver protective agent, and a remedy for liver cirrhosis. This is the only plant that contains all four essential fatty acids. (Omega 3,6,7 & 9). These berries contain over 14 essential vitamins and 190 phytonutrients, vitamins C&E, folic acid and amino acids. It’s antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti cancer, and helps with liver injury. It also promotes blood circulation, aids in digestion, reduces the risk of type II diabetes and prevents build up of plague in the blood vessels.
Number two is Chlorella. It is a single-celled freshwater algae grown in Japan & Taiwan. It has a good source of proteins & fats, carbs, fiber, chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals. It is used to prevent cancer, reduces side effects of radiation treatment, stimulates the immune system, increases white blood cell counts, prevents colds, and protect body against toxic metals by binding and excretion out of the body. It also slows down the aging process, increases the “good” bacteria in the gut, treats stress related ulcers, constipation, hypertension, detox body, improves mental health, increases energy and reduces Asthma symptoms.
Number three is Spirulina. This is a NASA approved super food and it is also being considered to help worldwide hunger because its 65% protein content. It is a blue-green algae and comes from Africa, Asia, and Central America. It contains B-complex vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin E, potassium, selenium, iodine, magnesium, eight essential amino acids, and 26 times more calcium than milk. It contains chlorophyll, phycocyanin, minerals, and antioxidants. It helps those with ADHD, cancer, fatigue, high cholesterol & triglycerides, and viral infections. It also helps with nasal allergies, diabetes(by reducing blood fat levels), and weight loss. I’m putting in a little plug for my sister, Kathy, who ambassador for Plexus. They have a Plexus Body Cream that contains Spirulina algae and some pretty awesome oils that do wonders for hydration your face and body. Number four is Gojo berry. These berries come from China, Mongolia, and Tibetan Himalayas. They are high in vitamins B & C, 21 trace alkaline minerals, iron, potassium, antioxidants and 18 amino acids. Studies show they increase HDL”good” cholesterol, reduce blood glucose level, improve immune function, slows aging process, protects DNA, increase energy, improves vision, detox liver, digestion, improve sleep, promotes good bacteria in the gut, help lose weight, improves physical performance and stimulates the regeneration of muscles. A Journal of American College of Nutrition study showed it boosts metabolism by 10% within 24 hours.
Number five is the Alma Berry. This berry is from India and is also known as the Indian Gooseberry. This berry contains fatty acids, bio flavonoids, polyphenols, cytokinins, B vitamins, calcium, potassium, iron, and tannins. It has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidants, anti aging, reduces stress, treats infection, diabetes, & cancer, strengthens lungs, boasts immunity, makes skin look younger, regulates blood sugar, improve eyesight, lower cholesterol, treats gastritis, and promotes strong bones, teeth, and nails. This berry helps alkaline the body and protects against inflammation and pain, eliminates heartburn and acid reflux. Removes years of accumulated toxins in your body. They can reset your metabolism and get rid of fat off the body. It also decreases cholesterol deposits inside arteries and veins and protects your liver from oxidative damage. Any of the supplements and berries below will improve your pH levels. In my next blog, I will provide more ways to improve our pH level and lymphatic system.
