Healthy Smoothie Recipes

Smoothies can be for breakfast, as a healthy snack, or a delicious dessert. I will post a link to the blender I use at the end of recipes. Enjoy!!!

Breakfast Energy Smoothie- Ingredients: 1/2 ripe avocado, 2 handfuls Spinach, 1 handful kale(stems removed), 1/2 cucumber, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 3 T. coconut oil, 1 T. flax seeds, and handful of almonds(soak 20 minutes) . Directions- Blend avocado, liquids, & cucumbers. Next add oil & the leaves blend, and finally add nuts and blend until smooth.

Green Smoothie- Ingredients: Handful of kale(stems removed), 1 green apple(fourths,remove seeds), 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1/2 c. parsley, and 2 c. water. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Blueberry Almond Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1 1/2 c. frozen blueberries, 1 T. lemon juice, 3 T. almond butter or peanut butter, 2 T. flax seeds, 3 dates(pitted), and 2 c. water. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Antioxidant Smoothie- Ingredients: 2 c. mixed frozen berries, 1 c. unsweetened pomegranate juice, and 1 c. water. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Banana Oat Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1/2 c. plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 c. skim milk or unsweetened almond milk, 1/4 c. old-fashioned rolled oats, 2 T. flax seeds, 1 T. honey, and 1 cup ice. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Blueberry Wheat Germ Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1 1/2 c. frozen blueberries, 1 c. fresh orange juice, and 2 T. toasted wheat germ. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Blueberry Flax Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1 c. frozen blueberries, 1 c. plain Greek yogurt, 2 T. flax seeds, and 1 T. Honey. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1 c. low-fat milk, 1/4 c. peanut butter, 2 T. honey, and 1/2c. ice. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Orange Berry Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1 1/2 c. frozen strawberries, 3/4 c. plain Greek yogurt, and 2 T. honey. Directions- Blend till smooth.

Chocolate Almond Smoothie- Ingredients: 1 ripe banana(frozen), 1 c. low-fat milk, 1/4 c. almond or peanut butter, 1 T. honey, 2 T. unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1/2 c. ice. Directions- Blend until smooth.

Tips- I peel and freeze bananas ahead of time. I also grind my flax seeds prior to adding to my smoothies(digest better ground-up). You can play around with ingredients to suit your tastes. Consider adding chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and flax seeds to smoothies for extra omegas and fiber.
